Freecycle
Have any of you heard of freecycle? I just found out about it this weekend. It's like craigslist, but everything is free. Check it out and see if it's set up in your area. http://www.freecycle.org/
Nursery!!!
I can not describe how excited I am now that Ashton can go to nursery. Yesterday was his first day. We walked in and he took off for the blocks and never looked back. We were planning on staying in there with him for awhile, but he didn't need us so we just left. As I was sitting in Relief Society I kept waiting for one of the teachers to bring him to me, but it never happened. At the end of church when we went to pick him up his teacher said he did great. He just played and played and never cried. I was so happy.
Being able to sit in Relief Society and not have to entertain a toddler and try to keep him quiet was wonderful. I got so much more out of the lesson. Peyton did well too. She just hung out in my arms and didn't cry. She did however bring attention to us. All you moms know how loud your babies bodily functions can be, right? Most of you also know how quiet it is in church and Relief society is very quiet. There are about 20 women and only 1 other child in there. I was holding Peyton up by my shoulder patting her back when she decides to fill her diaper. Almost everyone in the room turned when they heard the squirting and farting going on. She just kept going too. Even the lady giving the lesson paused for a second. I just smiled and kept patting her back. Then she belches. Loud enough for the rows surrounding me to hear and they turned and looked at us again. If that wasn't bad enough she then sneezes and all this snot comes out.
Do you have any stories about your kids embarrasing you?

Picture update
I wanted to post some new pictures of the kids.
Ashton has finally learned how to climb down the stairs. Going up was easy, but now going down is easy too for him. He loves it. Ashton has a bit of a shoe fetish and by the front door we have a shoe box full of flip flops and he loves to play with them and even wear them.
How cute is this?

Yogurt and a toddler
Before Peyton was born I was helping Ashton use a spoon. Then Peyton arrived and I didn't have the time anymore. Well, it's time to start letting him learn again. Today I was feeding him his yogurt and got about half way and I gave him the spoon. He loved dipping it into the yogurt and pulling the spoon out. I wanted to let him take over and see what would happen. He needs to practice. So I put a couple of blankets under the high chair. It's all carpeted here except for our little kitchen. I put a bib on him and handed him the yogurt and a spoon and sat on the couch. He did pretty well.
I emailed Taylor and told him what I had done and he said, "Is he flinging yet?" I sent back saying, "No not yet." I hit send and look over and there is Ashton sticking his hand in the yogurt and then flinging it off his hand. I totally blame Taylor for it. No pics of that. I was in hurry to stop the flying yogurt.

Princess
You Are Mulan!
Which Disney Princess Are You?
Strong and spirited. You're no one's girly girl; actually you are very determined person with a strong sense of self. Never let go of that! The only thing that equals your sense of self is your family, but the traditions of society can always be bent to protect something or someone you love.

The Zoo
Today we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo here in the Springs. We met up with Marianne and Phil and Phil's youngest daughter Becca and her husband and their 3 kids. We had a a lot of fun. Lucky for me Peyton slept the entire time we were there. We just pushed her around in the stroller. Ashton was able to walk around and just hold our hand. He enjoyed being out of the stroller for once. Here are some pictures from today.
Look how close you could get to the Giraffes. Taylor and Ashton got to feed this one.
It was a hazy day and a bad picture, but behind us was a view of Colorado Springs.
Happy Girl
Peyton has started smiling, but I never had the camera ready. Anyway these aren't great, but still cute. She had just woken up from her nap and was as happy as can be.
I took her to her 1 month check up and poor thing got a shot and hasn't been feeling well since. Anyway, she has gained 2 pounds since birth and is now 9 pounds 5 ounces and is 21 inches long. This puts her at the 50th percentile for weight and between 50th - 75th for height. The doctor said she was perfect and whatever I was doing was working.
