Kipton's Birth

Most of you know I started having contractions around 32 weeks. For me this was normal since I started labor early with Peyton as well. At my last appointment before Kipton's birthday I was 3cm along and I was about 39 weeks. On Sunday the 6th I was having back pain. Seemed like it only came when I moved so I didn't think too much about it. I went to bed that night not think much about it, but when it started to wake me up it made me wonder. Around 11:30 the great idea came to me, "Am I in labor?" Taylor came home at midnight from work and when he crawled into bed next to me I turned to him and said I think I'm in labor? We started watching tv and around 12:30am we started recording the contractions. After a couple being 4 minutes apart I decided to get into the shower, then I started packing my bag. My contractions then became 2 minutes apart and I said, "It's time to go!" We left about 1:20am and got to the hospital just before 2am. I was 6cm when we got there. I told my nurse with my last pregnancy I went from 7-10cm in one contraction to warn her my labors go pretty quickly. I was admitted right away without having to prove much or jump through many hoops. I was in my new room for about an hour. My contractions started to be right on top of each other never going away. Having contractions like that and back labor was more painful then I could have ever imagined. I remember saying I wanted the epidural, but they told me I was complete and it was time to push. The nurse hooked the belly bands back up to me to monitor the baby. Something I didn't want at the time, but was very grateful for afterwards. I gave a few weak pushes at first. I can remember thinking, just give me a break, one break from pain that was, but it never came. Then the doctor told me that Kipton's heart rate dropped and that I needed to get him out now. With that I gave it all I had and pushed that baby out. He started crying right away, but he was blue. Kipton had the cord wrapped around his neck, shoulder, and wrist and then had a knot in his cord. I guess once I started pushing that is when the cord got tight. Thanks to a quick doctor Kipton is just fine. He got a 8 out 9 on his APGAR score. Only lost 1 point for color. He quickly pinked up and was back in our arms.

I have to say, this labor was kind of traumatic for me. I remember afterwards and even a day after I couldn't remember certain things like, what Taylor did for work or my own birthday.

After being in true active labor for 3 hours Kipton Taylor Flint was born on June 7th, 2010 at 3:32 am. He weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Brown hair, blue eyes.

Here he is still a little blue

Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan's visit

Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan came for about a week and spent lots of time with us. On one the days we went to the park.

Grandma and Peyton

On one of the days Grandpa and Ashton built a snowman

This was one of the cutest peek a boo games ever with Grandma and Peyton. I love how Ashton walked up with his goggles on.

Here is a video of them playing peek a boo!

Peyton also got presents while they were here.

She got some necklaces and of course like everything else they have to go in her mouth.

Ashton really likes Peyton's new pom poms.

Ashton's 3rd Birthday

Ashton had an extended version for his birthday. A few weeks ago we took him to Pump it Up. It has 8 giant inflatables to play on and in. We took a small group of his friends and then he also had 3 sets of grandparents including 1 set of great grandparents.

Peyton loved this car.

Sorry, not great pics

Oops these are in reverse

Then Ashton got the Garfield Movie which has been on constant repeat ever since and also Lego Duplos.

On Ashton's actually birthday, 3/31 we invited his friends out to the park down the street and let them play, ate birthday cake and opened his remaining presents.

I love how Trinity is holding up 3 fingers.

There are more kids there, but they were too busy to come eat cake.

Brody was helping Ashton out. After all, Brody did pick that gift out for him.
Daddy had to help and stand guard cause Ashton kept trying to bolt. The playground was more fun then the presents apparently.

At one of the only stages I would imagine where it's cool to get underwear as a birthday gift

As soon as the presents stopped he was gone
