Power Wheels

A neighbor was giving away their Power Wheels Escalade. Ashton has been asking for one for a long time now and I really didn’t think he would ever get one since they got for $300 and up, but it just so happens some dreams do come true.

Kipton loves going for a ride.

017

Ashton is hoping to show his cousin Trey his new wheels soon. I wonder if this thing can tow a wagon so we can give everyone a ride.

As of right now Ashton is the only authorized driver. He is only allow to drive it in the low gear. It’s got a lot power and I’m not sure if I trust Peyton just yet. I’m not so sure if I should trust Ashton just yet either. Watch the video below!

Flint Boys

Since my last post was all about Peyton here are some recent pictures of the boys. I know I posted these on Facebook, but I have a lot of family who isn’t on Facebook and this is for them.

Aren’t they handsome!

Gymnastics & Ballet

We’ve recently signed Peyton up for gymnastics. Saying she loves it is a huge understatement. She is always talking about it and she can’t wait to go back.

Please forgive me. Some of the pictures are a little blurry.

Bar work. Here she is trying to keep her arms straight while supporting herself at the same time.

007

They do a circuit and one of the stops along the way is good old hopscotch.

010

Here the girls needed to swing through and kick the blue “barrel” is what the teacher called it.

011

Hand stands! Here they needed to put their hands on the little red hands on the floor and kick or walk their feet up. Then tuck their head in and roll their back into a somersault.

014

017

More swinging, but look at all the girls in the background up on the beams. They were very impressive up there.

018

Peyton’s beams are very close to the floor.

Below notice the little girl in red next to Peyton…her name is Abby and she is also in Peyton’s ballet class. They are only a few days apart.

BALLET

I thought I would add it to this post since it’s pretty much all about Peyton anyway. She started Ballet a few months ago and I was only able to get video from that first day and later found out my cinematography was awful. This is part of the reason why I haven’t posted it, but I thought for the family out of town they would probably like to see it anyway. The video is blurry in parts and also I cut off the some of the most important parts like her head or her feet. Also keep in mind this was her first time in the class. This  instructor does all of her informal (younger ages) in her studio in her garage and the formal (older ages) in her actual dance studio. Just in case you were wondering why it looks like a garage it’s because it is.

She does however have a recital coming up in May and I hope to get a much better video.

Studio R Ballet put on a Spring performance last Saturday called Ballet Under The Stars. It was outside in a neighborhood amphitheater. I was very excited when I heard about it. I now have someone to go to the ballet with….my daughter! We arrived a little early and scored front row seats. We just laid out a blanket and hung out. The performance was about an hour long and included many popular ballets like the Swan Lake. Peyton was memorized by all the girls in their special costumes.

Ashton’s Birthday

On March 31st Ashton turned 5 years old! We weren’t able to have his party until April 2nd, but thanks to some great friends I was able to take Ashton out for a couple hours just the two of us. With Taylor’s new schedule he has to work Saturdays and this year Ashton’s birthday was on a Saturday. I felt a little sad that Ashton wasn’t able to have his party on his actual birthday and he is old enough to know when his birthday was. He has been checking the calendar almost daily waiting.

A great friend of ours came over to our house and watch Peyton and Kipton. Ashton was very excited. We first went to the toy store and Ashton picked out some Spiderman sunglasses. Toys R Us mailed us a small gift card for his birthday. Then we went to Baskin Robbins for some free ice cream.

As we were sitting there eating our ice cream a lady walked over and started talking to us. I told her it was Ashton’s birthday and she made a few comments. She started to walk away and came back and said she wanted to be the first person to give him a birthday present and handed him $1 bill! It was really sweet!

After ice cream we headed over to Peter Piper Pizza where Ashton was eager to use his new $1 bill, but he didn’t need too. I had a coupon for 10 free tokens! We both had a great time. Ashton really enjoyed this motorcycle game. Played that several times. Then we played some skee ball and even some air hockey.

When I asked Ashton what he wanted to do for his birthday he told me he wanted to go to the park and have Spiderman cupcakes!

Here are the cupcakes! Ashton said he was so proud of me.

On to presents…

Ashton got some pretty cool gifts.

He got these two Spiderman's that sleep in his bed every night.

Check out that Dinosaur card!

055

If there was a winner for best gift this would have won. Ashton got a scooter! Look at that face. It says it all.

Thank you to everyone who came and made his day special!

Field Trip

Right across the street from Ashton and Peyton’s school is a very nice park. Both their classes decided to go together on this field trip. Except they were hardly ever together. Since I went last time with Ashton in the Fall and this was Peyton’s first field trip I decided to spend most my time with her class.

I was fortunately enough to be able to bring Kipton along.

Both classes stopped to feed the ducks.

006

Peyton eating the stale bread. She didn’t realize it wasn’t her snack, but it was the ducks.

003

After feeding the duck both classes got to play on the playground.

013

This is Ty. You’ll hear more about him below

014

015

We’ve been hearing a lot about these two boys. Ty and Bowen. Peyton’s teacher said that these boys just love Peyton. She is always holding hands with them walking to the playground. Not too uncommon since all the kids have to hold hands while walking there, but that Peyton is usually paired off with one of them. Also she is the only girl in her class with 13 other boys. She is bound to get extra attention.

Well I was watching them while on the field trip. Bowen who is pictured below walked with us to the park. But then Peyton spent most of her time while at the park with Ty.

017

019

We took a break from playing and had snack time. Peyton didn’t want to sit with her brothers and me so I went to see if she needed anything and she was sitting with Bowen.

023

024

Ashton”s class headed back to campus earlier then Peyton’s class so he just tagged along with me.

Here the boys are sharing snacks.

027

After snacks the kids got to go play on a different playground. Within minutes Peyton got hurt and as she was running towards me so was Ty from a different direction. He immediately hugged her and started rubbing her back and shoulder while she cried and was trying to tell me what happened. He was very sweet trying to comfort her. He then kissed her on the forehead and they went off to the play ground. I was a little taken back, but it was very innocent. You can tell Ty has been taught to comfort someone when they get hurt. Their teacher told me that Ty is very loving. The class is so young. Ages 2-4 years old and it’s nice to know Peyton is well taken care of. Definitely not ready for this girl to grow up.

Peyton with Ms. May. She is one of the aides.

The whole class. Mrs. Kathy (teacher) on the right and then Ms. Sherrie and Ms. May both aides.

Look at all those boys in her class. Notice Bowen is standing next to Peyton.

056

Mrs. Kathy and the class. Peyton pouting. She didn’t want to take another picture. Ty is standing behind Peyton.

064

It was a lot of fun to go on their field trip. They both loved having me there and Kipton benefited from it too.
