A BOY!

I have come to a realization this week and it makes me a little sad, but very happy too. Ashton is a boy! Yes gender wise, but that is not what I am talking about. My baby, my toddler is now a "BOY".

~ He sleeps in a big boy bed

~ He can count to 10

~ Knows most of his colors

~Knows a lot of animals and their sounds too

~ Talks in full sentences

~ Says, please, thank you, your welcome, love you, bless you (when you sneeze)

~ Knows many peoples first names like all his friends which totally surprised me and others

~ Sits at the table with no booster and can use utensils with minimal mess

~Jumps off furniture on to other furniture

~Plays in the backyard all by himself

~ Plays on the biggest/tallest play set at the park

~ Goes potty in the potty!

Yes, Ashton is potty training and we have had no accidents in the house except for the 2nd day of training which was about 3-4 days ago. Still learning about going potty outside the house, but that will come and will only take time.

It finally hit me that my baby boy turned into a "boy" over night. So now you can see why it makes me a little sad, but very happy too. Next is preschool and I can't believe that. There are many more things he does, but those are some of the exciting things. Lots to still work on, but so much he has accomplished. We love our little boy and are so glad we get to be his parents.

It really is cute to see my boy in underwear

I think I surprised him with this one

Not the greatest picture, but I love it cause he is in big boy underwear and it also shows that Ashton has thinned out. He lost the baby rolls. You will also see the next several pictures of him and his frogs. He loves these frogs. They are his favorite right now.

Potty training is easier if they are just naked so Ashton has been spending lots of time without pants and unfortunately is loving it way to much. It is hard to get clothes on him now.

Random pictures from the park. All four of us played on this teeter totter.

Here he is on the tallest play structure at the park which of course has the biggest slide.
Here is Ashton new favorite place. The basket is full of pillows and he has his frog, blanket, and drink. It's the perfect size for him.

Just a side note, Ashton will be 2 1/2 at the end of the month.

Fun times at the Flints

There are some places that are baby friendly and other places you would just prefer not to take them. Well, Taylor and I have done 2 things this past week with our kids that we have never done with them before. The first is that we went bowling. Ashton is still too young to play, but he did really well to watch and play in our little area and Peyton enjoyed it from the side too. We got to play 2 games. The first game Taylor one and the second game I won.
The next activity was that we all went to the movies. We went to our dollar theater and paid .75 per person for a total of $3 and we saw UP. Ashton kept saying it was too loud and I would have to agree. Peyton did okay too. It was nice and I think we will go back and see the new Ice Age movie if it is still playing.

Our kids are growing up and it is nice to be able to get out more with them and not have to worry about all the baby things. We have a two year old and a one year old and they are so much fun.

Ashton and Peyton

I thought this was just too cute!

Peyton: This won't hurt a bit, okay.

Ashton: Ow...be soft.

Ashton: Is she done yet?

Ashton: Hehe, that tickles!

Colorado State Fair

Last Tuesday, September 1st Taylor, Marianne, Phil and I went to the Colorado State Fair. We got a sitter and left the kids at home. It was Dollar Days at the fair. Meaning it was a $1 to enter instead of $5 and all rides were $1 as well instead of $4-$6 per ride. Also, parking was $10 for the preferred lot or $7 for the south lot. We parked in the south lot because I heard on the radio how to get free parking. It was fantastic that we got free parking and that parking lot also had a free shuttle that picked us up at our car and dropped us off at the front gate. It was perfect! We ended up only riding on a handful of rides. We made a mistake and ate right before so we really couldn't handle much. Nonetheless, we still had a great time.

Phil and Marianne

Marianne and Taylor getting on this crazy ride that I was too chicken for.

While they were on the ride Phil and I hung out in the chicken corner. Actually Phil didn't want to go on any of the rides. He was content just walking around and enjoying the food.

Not the greatest picture, but the group on the right at the bottom is Marianne. She is in a white top and pink/red color pants. Taylor is the group on the bottom closest to Marianne. Can't see him at all.

Marianne and I on the Octopus. Actually it probably wasn't called that. That is what I called it though. It was one of the longest rides since it takes awhile to load people on. We had a lot of fun and couldn't stop laughing the whole time.

Jacoby Joshua Kenoyer

I feel bad I haven't blogged this sooner, but my best friend Amber and her husband had their first baby on Tuesday, August 18th at 9:41pm. After being days over due and a long day of labor he finally arrived and is completely perfect! Weighing 8 pounds 5 ounces and is 20.5 inches long.

Congratulations Amber and Chris!

Snell Family Reunion

End of July was the Snell Family Reunion. Taylor's mom side of the family. It was really special because Chrystalee drove from Texas with two of her kids and Annedria flew in from Arizona with her newly born baby Trey.

This was the first real time that Ryleigh and Ashton (cousins) could play and actually get along. It was so cute to watch them. Here are some photos that we got without them knowing and then after them knowing.

Here they are sitting on the bottom step staring at each other drinking out of identical cups.

I was busted for snapping a picture. They don't look too upset though.

I don't know what they are doing in these pictures.

Trey got lots of baths while he was here. He got a pretty severe diaper rash so we let the water do the dirty work of cleaning and he loved the bath. We even let him lie down on the counter so he could air his little bum out.

He loved it and even took a little nap. Annedria, Chrystalee and I all sat around him talking while he rested.

One thing we realized is that Taylor and I know this baby thing pretty well. It also made me realize that I am not "baby hungry" : )

I don't have many pictures of the actually reunion.

These were taken over at Uncle David and Aunt Sheila

Blogging is stressful!

I know I haven't blogged in awhile and I am SOOOO behind and the thought of blogging everything that I haven't, stresses me out. Then to avoid being stressed I don't blog. I've done this several times the past month or two or how ever long it's been since I've blogged.

This is what I've decided to do. Stop blogging. No, I'm just kidding I couldn't really do that. What I've decided to do is to just blog 1 thing at a time and not in any order either.

What you get tonight is about Peyton. Which is probably going to be long, but I love talking about my baby girl. She is official one years old and was a few weeks ago. We had a birthday for her the day after my birthday which I've decided to never do again. The day before her party I had so much planning to do and it was my birthday. I didn't want to plan and prepare. My lovely husband thought of that and took me out the night before. We got a sitter and went out for dinner and movie and it sounds so simple, but it was so nice to get out without taking our kids. A quiet, peaceful, relaxing dinner. We saw The Proposal and I thought it was fantastic. Whoa, back to Peyton right?!?!

We had Peyton's Pretty Party on Saturday August 1st. I got very few good photos of Peyton that day so I tried to take her back and still couldn't get the "wow" photo so here are some of the ones that I liked.

Peyton got her very own cake and she loved it. She got it in her hair and even moved her bib so it got on her clothes. Even the back of the chair was frosted by the time she was done.

Even Ashton spoils her. Here he is spoon feeding her.

Yep, why not turn the cake upside down?

Daddy and Peyton opening presents

Peyton with Grandpa Phil

Peyton walking with Grandma Marianne. Still a little wobbly.

Thank you to everyone who sent gifts and cards. Peyton sure is loved!

These are what I would call the "wow" photos.

Isn't she so beautiful!
Ashton and Peyton playing together. So cute to watch them.

Peyton has always had a relaxed "take my time" kind of personality. Never been in a hurry to do anything or go anywhere. Peyton reminds me a lot of her Aunt Annedria for being so easy going. Peyton is also petite like her Aunt too.
Peyton has taken steps all by herself, but still prefers to crawl everywhere or hold your hand when walking. At one time she took 5-6 steps and that was the last time. She loves Little Einsteins and claps every time she hears the music. She loves to be "pretty" and attempts to put things on like her hair pieces and then gives you the cutest grin. She is always sharing and loves to play cars with her big brother. She always wants her morning kisses from Daddy and she will not let Daddy forget. She has 1 tooth on the bottom left. She weighs 19 pounds and is 28 inches long. She is our petite pretty princess Peyton and we love her sooo much!

Skinny Wallet, Full Cupboard

My friend has been so kind as to share all of her penny pincher secrets. She is always telling me that she saved this much or she got this for free and she gets lots of things. Please check out her blog and leave a comment if you liked something or will use something. Like most people who spend this time they would like to know their efforts are worth it.
